Why do we clean and polish?

Most of our Jewellery Doctor repairs include a professional clean and polish. We do this because the repair procedure causes your piece to become tarnished, discoloured, and dirty, and we really wouldn't want to return your precious jewellery to you in this condition.

One of the most frequent inquiries we receive is whether we can minimise the price by not completing a professional clean and polish. The simple answer is that we can skip the clean and polish but this will not affect the price, and you will receive your jewellery back in less-than-perfect condition. In fact, it may look worse (albeit beautifully repaired) than when you submitted it to us due to tarnishing through the repair process, and we’d much rather have your newly repaired jewellery piece returned to you, looking brand new and shiny so you can show it off.
